Harli White is heading to the desert this weekend for an ASCS Southwest Region doubleheader.

White will compete on Friday and Saturday at Southern New Mexico Speedway in Las Cruces, N.M., for the ASCS Southwest Sprint Car Shootout that pays $2,500 to win each night.

“We want to bring home the big check,” she said. “We need to be racing every weekend to get my experience level up and get me where I need to be to compete with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour.”

White has competed at Southern New Mexico Speedway in a 360 Winged Sprint Car, 360 Non-Wing Sprint Car and 305 Winged Sprint Car.

“I’ve had my moments there with some good finishes,” she said. “I know the track. It’s just getting the car hooked up and me comfortable.”

White scored results of eighth and sixth, respectively, in 2013 during a 305 Winged Sprint Car doubleheader. She also placed 21st that season in a 360 Winged Sprint Car main event.

The Body Works, which is located in Las Cruces, has provided professional collision repair, paint and restoration services since 1997.

“They are great people who hung out with us and helped at the Chili Bowl last year,” White said. “I met them while racing in Las Cruces in 2015 and I told my story to their employees. We hit it off and have become great friends.”

White would also like to thank Charlie’s Trucking and Forklift, Lucas Oil Products, The Mower Shop, Mesilla Valley Transportation, Golden Triangle Fire Protection, C.R.A.S.H. Enterprises, Sea Foam, Jerry Tucker Roustabout, PXP Racewear, RaceChic, Shiners Hospitals for Children and Superflow Testers for their continued support.
